STEAM

The PVSchools Secondary STEAM program connects learning to real-world applications. Students develop a solid mastery of mathematics and gain extensive experience in science and technology, from hands-on lab experiments and engaging digital simulations to essential coding skills.

The CTE pathway exploration opportunities, including ECAPS and a wide range of electives, help students discover their passions and connect their education to future career paths.

The Secondary STEAM program is built on inquiry-based learning, problem-solving, and problem-based learning. It integrates the 4Cs (Collaboration, Communication, Creativity, and Critical Thinking) and the Engineering Design Process (EDP), connecting classroom learning to real-world STEAM applications and experiences.

The curriculum integrates STEAM standards across all subjects, aligning with established standards and assessments. Learning experiences intentionally weave together the arts and design with science, technology, engineering, and mathematics.

Secondary STEAM provides students with numerous opportunities to explore and learn about STEAM careers, fostering inspiration and awareness. These authentic learning experiences are designed to cultivate positive student STEAM identities.

STEAM principles are integrated into CTE, offering career exploration through ECAPS/CTE pathways, including career clusters and workplace learning. The district provides structured co-curricular and extracurricular STEAM opportunities (CTSOs) and ensures alignment and articulation of student career pathways with postsecondary STEAM programs and careers.
